Louie leads surge

Tony Louie scored 11 of his 20 points in the third quarter when the Inchelium Hornets took control of the game en route to a 58-43 Panorama League boys victory over host Columbia on Friday night.

Non-league

Colville 66, Kettle Falls 46: Colville (1-2) put in eight 3-pointers in taking a victory over neighbor and host Kettle Falls. Cruz Thompson and Austin Peat had 13 apiece for the Indians.The Bulldogs (0-4) were led by Kirt Douse with 17.

Priest River 61, Bonners Ferry 46: Max Salesky hit 6 of 7 3-point attempts, including all five in the first half, in scoring 22 points and leading the Spartans (4-0) to victory over the Badgers (0-3) at the Newport Holiday Tournament.

Priest River will face host Newport for the tournament title at 6 p.m. today while Bonners Ferry will play Clark Fork in the other game at 2:30 p.m.

Newport 61, Clark Fork 39: Devon Willenbrock scored 19 points and snagged four steals as the Grizzlies (3-4) pressured the Wampus Cats (1-3) into 28 turnovers in a victory in their own tournament.

Girls

Cusick 42, Curlew 24: Ashley Keogh scored 15 points and added nine steals and seven rebounds to lead the host Cusick Panthers (5-0, 3-0) to a Panorama League victory over the Curlew Cougars (4-2, 2-1). Cusick came up with 20 steals.

Columbia (Hunters) 45, Inchelium 37: Freshman guard Krista Colvin had 11 rebounds to go with her 11 points as the Lions (4-0, 2-0) downed the Hornets (3-2, 1-1) in Hunters.

Caribou Trail League

Lake Roosevelt 75, Omak 39: Melissa Meza had 17 points and 15 rebounds as the Raiders whipped the Pioneers.

Non-league

Colville 59, Kettle Falls 41: Leading by two at the half, the Indians (2-1) took off for a win over the Bulldogs (3-2).

Newport 60, Clark Fork 31: The Grizzlies took a 20-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in winning at their own tournament.

The Grizzlies (5-3) will play Priest River for the tournament title today.
