Brook Lopez scored a career-high 31 points and had 13 rebounds, and No. 14 Stanford (17-3, 6-2 Pac-10) bullied Washington (12-9, 3-5) inside in a 65-51 victory on Thursday night, the Huskies’ worst home loss in five years.

Lopez, a 7-foot sophomore, made 11 of 17 shots in the biggest scoring night by a Cardinal since Dan Grunfeld scored 31 against Arizona State in 2006. Lopez entered averaging 17.8 points.

The Cardinal’s last win in the Emerald City was Jan. 25, 2001, over Washington when Stanford was ranked No. 1.

Quincy Pondexter scored 15 points and Jon Brockman had 13 points and 13 rebounds for outmanned Washington.

(5) UCLA 84, Arizona State 51: At Los Angeles, Josh Shipp broke out of a brief shooting slump with 21 points, freshman Kevin Love had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and the Bruins (19-2, 7-1 Pac-10) overpowered the Sun Devils (14-6, 4-4).

Shipp, who shot 5 for 18 including 2 for 12 from 3-point range in victories at Oregon and Oregon State last weekend, was 6 for 11 including 5 for 8 from beyond the arc against ASU before coming out for good with 10:32 remaining.

Love shot 9 for 11 in his 12th double-double of the season.

Arizona 80, USC 69: At Los Angeles, Chase Budinger had 29 points and eight rebounds to lead the Wildcats (15-6, 5-3) over the Trojans (13-8, 4-4).

Budinger scored 18 points in the second half and made 11 of 20 field goals, including 4 of 7 from the perimeter for the Wildcats.

O.J. Mayo scored 23 points, Davon Jefferson had 19 points and Taj Gibson added 17 for the Trojans.

Budinger scored a 3-pointer to tie the game at 55 with 8:19 left in the second half and Arizona pulled away from there.
