Students from Garwood Elementary captured both Best of Show awards at the Regional Invent Idaho student invention competition held at Silver Lake Mall on Jan. 26-27.

Magen Daniels’ “Bottle Board Landing” won the top award in grades 1 through 4, while Erik Fesler took top honors in grades 5 through 8 with his “Cable Track” project.

The People’s Choice Award went to Marniah Maas, a seventh-grader at Sandpoint Charter School, for her “Drop-N-Dry” project.

The competition attracted 123 entries in five categories

Best of Show, Best of Category, and first and second placers go on to the State Invent Idaho competition in Boise, March 7-9, held at the Discovery Center.
