Watson leads way

Earl Watson had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double, leading the Seattle SuperSonics to a 105-92 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night in Sacramento, Calif.

Ahead by eight points after three quarters, the Sonics scored the first 13 points of the fourth to take a 21-point lead. Scoreless through three quarters, Johan Petro scored nine straight points in the run that helped Seattle go ahead 94-73 with 8:06 remaining.

Kevin Durant scored 17 points and Chris Wilcox had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Seattle. Nick Collison and Kurt Thomas each added 13 points. The Sonics have won four of five.

Ron Artest scored 20 points for the Kings. Former University of Washington Husky Spencer Hawes added 10 for Sacramento.

Trail Blazers 100, Bulls 97: At Portland, Brandon Roy scored 28 points and the Trail Blazers held off short-handed Chicago.

Pistons 100, Heat 95: At Auburn Hills, Mich., Rasheed Wallace had 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead Detroit over Miami, a few hours after the Heat traded Shaquille O’Neal.

Dwayne Wade, who had 30 points and 12 assists, pulled the Heat within a point with just less than 3 minutes left and he set up Ricky Davis’ 3-pointer to make it 94-92 with 21.5 seconds left.

Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups made enough free throws on the next three possessions to seal the win for the Pistons, who have won six straight.

Celtics 111, Clippers 100: At Boston, Rajon Rondo scored a career-high 24 points to go with eight assists and five rebounds, coming back from a flagrant foul that knocked him to the floor and bloodied his nose to lead Boston over Los Angeles.

Magic 100, Nets 84: At Orlando, Fla., Dwight Howard had 21 points and 13 rebounds as the Magic avenged a one-point loss to New Jersey last month.

Hawks 98, Lakers 95: At Atlanta, Joe Johnson scored 28 points, including four free throws in the final 23 seconds, and the Hawks beat Los Angeles.

Hawks rookie center Al Horford had 15 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. Lamar Odom led the Lakers with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Spurs 85, Wizards 77: At Washington, Robert Horry got San Antonio in gear after a lackluster 2 1/2 quarters, scoring seven of his season-high nine points in the 17-4 spurt that gave his team the lead for good.

Tim Duncan had 23 points, nine rebounds and four assists, and Fabricio Oberto had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs.

Pacers 103, Knicks 100: At New York, Kareem Rush scored 24 points, and Indiana used a strong defensive effort in the fourth quarter to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Zach Randolph scored 26 points for the Knicks, who dropped their seventh straight.

Hornets 132, Suns 130 (2OT): At Phoenix, Peja Stojakovic sank a 22-footer at the buzzer to give New Orleans a double-overtime victory over the Suns.

Jazz 118, Nuggets 115 (OT): At Denver, Kyle Korver’s 27 points, including four free throws in the final 19 seconds of overtime, sent Utah to its 10th straight win.

Deron Williams led the Jazz with 29 points.

Mavericks 107, Bucks 96: At Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists for his first career triple-double, and the Mavericks stretched their home winning streak to eight games.

Bryant to be in 3-point contest

Kobe Bryant will take part in the 3-point shooting contest at All-Star weekend against a field that includes defending champion Jason Kapono and the last repeat winner, Peja Stojakovic.

Steve Nash, Detroit All-Star Richard Hamilton and Cleveland’s Daniel Gibson also were chosen to take part in the event, which will be held Feb. 16 in New Orleans during All-Star Saturday night.
