Clarkston hands Pullman first league loss of season
Cody Brown had 16 points and nine rebounds and Clarkston dealt Pullman its first Great Northern League loss of the season by beating the Greyhounds 66-54 Tuesday in Pullman.
The Bantams dominated in the fourth quarter, outscoring Pullman 27-14 after trailing by a point at the end of the third.
Dustin McConnell had 15 points, Dale Entel chipped in 11 and Don Perconti added 10 for Clarkston.
A.J. Sanford had a game-high 21 points and added six assists and five rebounds for the Greyhounds.
Clarkston improved to 11-6 and 9-2 in the GNL, while Pullman fell to 15-2, 10-1.
Elsewhere in the league, Corey Ward scored 16 points and Devin Almas added 10 as Colville upset visiting West Valley 63-58. The Eagles (11-6, 7-4) led 15-4 after the first quarter but the Indians (9-10, 3-10) responded by outscoring WV 18-5 in the second. James Cahalan had 16 points and Parker Flynn added 13 to lead WV. … Griffon Jones scored 21 points and Cheney came alive in the second half to beat host Riverside 59-47. Brandon Hardie added 14 points for the Blackhawks (13-4, 8-3), who outscored the Rams 36-14 in the second half after trailing by 10 at halftime. Mitch Chandler scored 12 points and Josh Nyberg added 11 to lead Riverside (7-12, 2-11). … Brad Rumann scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to guide Deer Park to a 53-50 victory over visiting Medical Lake. Corey Meyers had 14 points and Kevin McNeil added 10 for the Stags (9-9, 4-8). The Cardinals (7-9, 3-7) were led by David Ramacus, who scored 17 points.
•Jim Maley scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Rosalia to a 63-27 win over Prescott in a District 9 1B tournament game at Colfax Middle School. The Spartans outscored the Tigers 20-2 in the first quarter and led 37-7 at halftime. Rosalia (16-7) will play Tri-Cities Prep at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Walla Walla Community College. Prescott will play LaCrosse-Washtucna at 6 p.m. today at Colfax Middle School. … Also at Colfax, Jordan Palmer and Scott Smith scored 13 points each to lead Garfield-Palouse to a 45-30 win over Touchet. •Darin Palmer and Andrew Prohaska scored 13 points apiece to lead Coeur d’Alene to a 76-45 Inland Empire League rout of visiting Moscow. The Vikings (17-2, 11-0) outscored the Bears 18-3 in the first quarter and led 39-17 at the half. Mac Stannard led Moscow (6-11, 3-8) with 12 points.
•Ryan Selland scored a game-high 19 points to lead Mt. Spokane to a 48-36 Greater Spokane League win over host East Valley. The Wildcats (10-9) took control early, outscoring the Knights 13-4 in the first quarter and leading 23-10 at the half. Danny Marshall tallied a team-high 14 points for EV (1-18).
•Ryan Winebark scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Bonners Ferry past Priest River 67-57 in an Intermountain League game at Bonners Ferry. Miguel Mendez had 15 points and A.J. Bennett added 12 for the Badgers (12-8, 6-2), who outscored the Spartans 42-25 in the second half to erase a seven-point halftime deficit. Eric Holbrook tallied a team-high 14 points for Priest River (10-10, 4-4). … Also in the league, Seth Ketchum scored 16 points to lead Kellogg (14-5, 7-1) to a 66-34 win over visiting Timberlake. Pat Lagrimanta had 14 points for the Tigers (0-20, 0-8).

Maria Villegas tallied a game-high 17 points to lead the Rangers (11-12), who were eliminated. The Lancers (11-13) advance to play Pomeroy at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Mead High School. … Also at SCC, Katlin Fowles scored 12 points and Devon Killian added 10 as Lind-Ritzville earned the third seed to the regional with a 46-40 win over Springdale. Sara Taulaki had 14 points to lead the Chargers (18-6), who earned the fourth seed and will play Northwest Christian at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Spokane. The Broncos (19-4) will play DeSales at 2:45 p.m.
•Karla Koller scored 18 points to lead LaCrosse-Washtucna to a 44-43 win over Touchet in a District 9 1B tournament game at Colfax Middle School. The Tigercats outscored the Indians 12-4 in the fourth quarter to erase a seven-point deficit.
