‘Lights’ may be back on

“Friday Night Lights” is done for this season, but the Dillon Panthers could yet live to play another day.

NBC is considering ways to bring back the low-rated but fiercely loved series for a third season, possibly by sharing the show with another network, such as the CW or TNT.

It does something similar with “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” New episodes debuted on USA in the fall and are now being repurposed on NBC.

“Friday Night Lights” averaged about 6.2 million viewers per week over its 15 episodes this season, but its fans are fervent.

Some have created a Web site, www.SaveFridayNight Lights.com, aimed at inundating NBC with letters, online petitions, even plastic footballs.
