The Mountain Lions overcame a slow first quarter and controlled the last three frames.

Liberty Bell was paced by Tre Aherns, who scored a game-high 18 points.

Ryan Schulz scored a team-high 16 points for the Indians but was the only Reardan player in double figures. The next leading scorers for the Indians were Ross Nesbitt and Mike Matson, who each chipped in six points.

Jason Lindeman put in 37 points in a scoring rampage for La Conner, and the Braves defeated the Redskins.

Lindeman and teammate Taylor Thostenson combined for 57 of the Braves’ total points. Thostenson also snagged 12 boards, including eight on the offensive end.

The Redskins used a three-pronged attack of TJ Flett, Cody Flett and Kennedy Seyler to keep the game close through three quarters.

But the contest belonged to Lindeman, who slashed and jump-shot his way to a game-high performance. He drained a 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining in the third quarter that gave La Conner momentum and instigated an 11-5 run to open the fourth quarter.

The Crusaders set the tone early and never trailed against the Tigers.

Northwest Christian is seeking its third consecutive state championship and appeared hungry for it from the outset. It dominated the opening frame, outscoring the Tigers 24-4. Their offense cooled in the second quarter, as they eked only nine points, but they righted themselves for the final 16 minutes and outscored the Tigers 33-24.

NWC used a balanced attack to topple Napavine, and all but two Crusaders who played also scored. Chase Ramey had the game-high with 18 points and was aided by Jared Descoteaux with 15.

The Loggers edged the Navigators despite a rusty first half and a game-high 28 points from Northwest Christian’s Ryan Fox.

Darrington went scoreless for a little more than 3 minutes beginning at 5:59 in the second quarter, allowing the Navigators to take advantage and briefly seize the lead.

But the Loggers rebounded after the half, and went on a 9-0 run with 5:51 remaining in the third quarter. Cory Hoveskeland keyed the spurt, scoring all but eight points during the streak. He finished with 15 points for the quarter and 20 for the game.

Riverside Christian used two huge runs of 16-3 in the first half and 11-0 in the second half to spoil Bear Creek’s first trip to the state tournament.

Defense was a huge key in the win for the Crusaders as seniors Matthew Crockett blocked four shots and Chris Pynch helped his team cause 14 turnovers.

After letting the Saints pull within two points in the third quarter, the Broncos caught fire and went on an 18-5 run to pull away.

The Saints stuck around with the Broncos for most of the game but couldn’t buy a basket in the fourth quarter, only hitting four field goals and missing both free-throw chances.

The Mules’ defense stepped up when it needed to as it held the Dragons to seven fourth-quarter points.

After falling behind 10-1 to start, the Mules bounced back to trail by only one at the end of the third quarter. The Mules were led by sophomore Cody Olsen with 16 points.

The Dragons were led by senior Henry Butler, who scored nine of his 17 points in the third quarter. Butler also led his team in rebounds with five.

The Ducks controlled the whole game, leading from the tip off until the final buzzer, as they defeated the Eagles.

The Ducks began the game with a 12-4 first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Toutle Lake was led by senior Brandon Hoff, who scored a game-high 17 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field and a 6-for-9 effort from the free-throw line.
