The buzz: Coach Rich Rodriguez’s sudden departure to Michigan is a distraction for the Mountaineers, but they still have one of the country’s best quarterbacks in Pat White, who has thrown 2,733 total yards and 26 touchdowns. The Mountaineers are fourth in the nation with 292.9 rushing yards per game.

Oklahoma is fresh off a Big 12 championship with a 38-17 rout of then-No. 1 Missouri in the conference title game.

Associate head coach Bill Stewart will coach the game for West Virginia.
