‘Tequila’ - sans first-season winner - back on MTV

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

MTV has ordered a second season of “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” – which is good news for the network, but not so good for the first-season winner.

Bobby Banhart, the 25-year-old male film student selected last month by Tequila on the reality dating show, is no longer dating the 26-year-old bisexual Internet celebrity.

During MTV’s New Year’s Eve programming, Tequila said Banhart broke up with her because of her hectic work schedule.

However, Banhart said in a message posted on MySpace that “she never called me after the last show and no one would give me her number.”

In any event, it means another round of Tequila looking for a mate from among a group of both male and female hopefuls. New episodes are expected this spring.

About 6 million people watched the first-season finale, making it the biggest broadcast on MTV since an “Osbournes” episode in 2002.

There also will be a spinoff called “That’s Amore,” with former “Shot of Love” contestant Domenico Nesci choosing one of 15 American women to take home to mama.
