New Year Sermon Series by Pastor Heather Seman – Five-week series on Sundays, 8:30-11 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W Hanley. Series is based on Philippians: Paul’s Epistles of Joy. 765-8800.

“An Emerging Elderhood: Reflections of a Geezer,” by Paul Graves – Perspective on age and aging, Sunday, 10:30 a.m. at the Harding Family Center, 411 N. 15th St. Presented by the North Idaho Unitarian Universalist Church. 765-0716.

“Get on the Road to Financial Peace” - Introductory preview Monday, 6 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave. The course is Financial Peace University’s Bible-based study that teaches families to beat debt, build wealth and give, while managing your resources. The two-hour sessions are taught via DVD by Dave Ramsey, followed by a small group discussion. The weekly classes begin Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at the church. For more information, call 664-9231.

Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho – Registrations now being accepted for youth ages 6-18 for winter session to begin Tuesday. Classes will be held Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. at The Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave. Instruction include beginning drama, voice and theatrical dance, theatrical make up, advanced acting, and musical theater for ages 6-7. Auditions will also be held for a March performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. For information, call Bliss at 819-9281.
