UConn drubs Purdue by 50

Tina Charles had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and No. 1 Connecticut (13-0) defeated Purdue 100-50 on Sunday at West Lafayette, Ind., in the Boilermakers’ (6-8) worst defeat.

Purdue’s worst loss had been by 46 points to Ohio State on Jan. 14, 1983.

Brittany Hunter scored 15 points, Meghan Gardler scored 14 and Maya Moore and Renee Montgomery each had 13 points for the Huskies.

USC 73, (2) Stanford 72: At Los Angeles, Camille LeNoir hit a jumper with 8.1 seconds remaining, giving the Trojans (9-6, 2-2 Pac-10) an upset victory over the Cardinal (12-3, 2-2).

LeNoir scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers, for USC.

Xavier 65, (7) Georgia 55: At Cincinnati, Amber Harris scored 19 points and Ta’Shia Phillips added 16, a balanced attack that helped the Musketeers (10-5) pull away to a victory over the previously unbeaten Lady Bulldogs (13-1).

(10) California 73, UCLA 70 (OT): At Los Angeles, Natasha Vital scored 18 points, including two free throws in overtime, to lead the Bears (13-2, 4-0 Pac-10) over the Bruins (7-8, 2-2).
