Daniel Alfredsson had three goals and three assists, leading the Ottawa Senators past the Tampa Bay Lightning 8-4 on Thursday night in Tampa, Fla.

Flyers 4, Penguins 3: At Philadelphia, Mike Knuble and Jim Vandermeer scored third-period goals to lift the Flyers over Pittsburgh.

Bruins 4, Islanders 1: At Boston, Marc Savard and Dennis Wideman each had a goal and an assist to lift the Bruins over New York.

Canadiens 4, Devils 3: At Newark, N.J., Chris Higgins scored a power-play goal with 5:29 remaining to cap a three-goal third period and give Montreal a victory over New Jersey.

Oilers 4, Panthers 3 (SO): At Sunrise, Fla., Jordan Stoll scored twice in the final 1:23 of regulation to force overtime and help Edmonton beat Florida.

Capitals 2, Maple Leafs 1: At Washington, Brooks Laich and Viktor Kozlov scored, and Alex Ovechkin assisted on both goals as the Capitals beat Toronto.

Thrashers 2, Rangers 1 (SO): At New York, Henrik Lundqvist was perfect through three rounds of the shootout, and Brendan Shanahan scored the only goal in the tiebreaker as the Rangers beat Atlanta.

Sabres 2, Stars 1: At Dallas, Derek Roy scored two goals to help lead Buffalo over the Stars.

Blue Jackets 1, Blackhawks 0: At Chicago, Pascal Leclaire made 30 saves to help Columbus defeat the Blackhawks.

Wild 3, Avalanche 2: At Denver, Pavol Demitra had a goal and an assist to lift Minnesota over Colorado.

Coyotes 4, Predators 3 (OT): At Glendale, Ariz., Zbynek Michalek scored with 29 seconds left in OT to lift Phoenix over Nashville.

Sharks 4, Blues 1: At San Jose, Calif., Jonathan Cheechoo scored twice in the third period and the Sharks beat St. Louis.

Kings 3, Ducks 1: At Los Angeles, Derek Armstrong had a goal and an assist to help the Kings defeat Anaheim.
