San Diego’s win over No. 20 Saint Mary’s was the school’s third against a ranked opponent. The others came against UCLA in 2003 and Gonzaga in 2000. … Gonzaga’s Austin Daye has made 26 of 35 shots (74.3 percent) in five WCC games and leads the team in scoring at 13 points per game in 15.6 minutes. … Santa Clara starting guard Zac Tiedeman (knee) is doubtful for Saturday’s game against Gonzaga. … San Francisco has lost 10 of its last 11 games, its worst stretch since the 1998-99 season. … Two Oregon prep players who committed to Pepperdine have changed their minds after the resignation of coach Vance Walberg. Oregon City’s Brad Tinsley has been released from his letter of intent. Grant High’s Paul McCoy has requested a release and is considering playing football and basketball. … Saint Mary’s has used the same starting five in every game this season.
