Brewers 2, Pirates 1: At Milwaukee, Prince Fielder singled in Rickie Weeks with one out in the bottom of the ninth and the Brewers beat Pittsburgh.

Cardinals 5, Cubs 4: At St. Louis, Rick Ankiel slapped a two-out, two-run single to right field in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap a three-run rally and lead the Cardinals to a win over Chicago.

Reds 3, Nationals 2: At Cincinnati, Brandon Phillips singled in Jerry Hairston Jr. from second base in the ninth inning, lifting the Reds to a win over Washington.

Astros 6, Braves 1: At Atlanta, Mark Loretta had three doubles and drove in four runs and, with Ty Wigginton batting leadoff for the first time this season, Houston scored four times in the first two innings to beat the Braves.

Mets 9, Phillies 4: At Philadelphia, pinch-hitter Brian Schneider lined a tiebreaking double in the eighth inning and New York rallied against the majors’ best bullpen, beating the Phillies to end their four-game winning streak.

Padres 4, Diamondbacks 2: At Phoenix, Jake Peavy threw seven scoreless innings and Scott Hairston homered twice in San Diego’s victory over Arizona, which has dropped five of eight games.

Rockies 12, Marlins 6: At Denver, Matt Holliday homered and drove in four runs and Joe Koshansky hit his first major league homer as Colorado beat Florida for its season-best fifth straight win.

Giants 5, Dodgers 2: At San Francisco, Randy Winn and Fred Lewis hit two-out RBI singles during a four-run rally in the seventh inning and the Giants defeated Los Angeles.
