Hints from Heloise

King Features Syndicate The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: I love my deep, dark denim jeans. How can I keep them from fading in the wash? – Gerry R., Roanoke, Va.

Fortunately, today’s denim is manufactured with modern dyes, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much. Wash as the care label indicates, turn inside out and use cold water. Some new laundry products will help denim keep its dark color. Heloise

Dear Heloise: All of us want to go “green” for the environment, so I have a way of getting more people to use cloth grocery bags. Why don’t stores add their city and state to the bags so they look like a T-shirt? I’m sure many of us would love to buy them as souvenirs and use them to show where we have visited. – G.J., Southeast Ohio
