Padres 6, Pirates 5: At Pittsburgh, Adrian Gonzalez homered to help San Diego earn a win over the Pirates. Josh Bard had two RBIs for the Padres, who won for only the second time in 11 games.

Marlins 3, Cubs 2: At Chicago, Jeremy Hermida hit a pinch-hit home run to lead off the ninth inning, helping Florida to a win over the Cubs.

Braves 8, Phillies 2: At Philadelphia, Jair Jurrjens pitched eight scoreless innings and Brian McCann hit two homers, including a grand slam, to lead Atlanta over the struggling Phillies.

Rockies 7, Reds 2: At Cincinnati, Brad Hawpe hit a two-run homer and Aaron Cook went eight solid innings as Colorado won for the seventh time in eight games with a victory over the Reds.

Mets 7, Cardinals 2: At New York, Mike Pelfrey won his seventh consecutive decision and Carlos Delgado homered again, leading the Mets to a victory over slumping St. Louis. Jose Reyes added a two-run triple for New York.

Astros 3, Brewers 1: At Milwaukee, Wandy Rodriguez allowed one run on three hits over six innings to help Houston snap the Brewers’ eight-game winning streak.

Dodgers 3, Nationals 2: At Los Angeles, Chad Billingsley took a three-hitter into the eighth inning, Nomar Garciaparra singled home the tying and go-ahead runs and the Dodgers beat Washington.

Diamondbacks 10, Giants 2: At San Francisco, Mark Reynolds hit a three-run homer, Conor Jackson and Chad Tracy also connected and Arizona beat the Giants.
