Kelowna trips RiverHawks
Riley Henricks drew a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning Tuesday to help the Kelowna Falcons to a 10-8 win over the Spokane RiverHawks at Gonzaga University’s Patterson Complex.
Brett Nicholas, who had a team-high three runs batted in, added a sacrifice fly for the Falcons in the 10th off Jake Hiatt (2-1).
Ernesto Ortiz went 4 for 5 for Spokane, including a one-out RBI double in the eighth to tie the game at 8. The RiverHawks’ Tyson Van Winkle hit a solo home run in the first and a two-run blast during a four-run fifth.
Spokane (16-18), 0-3 against Kelowna this season, missed a chance to pass the Falcons (17-16) for second place in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League’s East Division.
