Braves 5, Marlins 4: At Atlanta, Chipper Jones hit a three-run homer and Greg Norton came through with a two-run double in the eighth inning as the Braves rallied to beat Florida. Jones went 2 for 4 to raise his average to .409 on the season.

Phillies 3, Reds 2: At Philadelphia, Pat Burrell hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the sixth inning to lift the Phillies over Cincinnati. Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. walked as a pinch hitter in the eighth and remains at 599 career home runs.

Brewers 7, Diamondbacks 1: At Milwaukee, Ryan Braun hit a two-run home run to ruin a memorable night for Randy Johnson, powering the Brewers over Arizona. Johnson broke a tie with Roger Clemens for second place on baseball’s career strikeout list when he fanned Mike Cameron in the first inning.

Mets 9, Giants 6: At San Francisco, Pedro Martinez allowed three runs in six innings in his first start since April 1 and New York held off the Giants.

Astros 2, Pirates 0: At Pittsburgh, Lance Berkman and Miguel Tejada doubled in runs to lead Houston past the Pirates.

Cardinals 6, Nationals 1: At Washington, Yadier Molina hit a three-run home run and St. Louis beat the Nationals in a game with 21/2 hours of rain delays.

Cubs 9, Padres 6: At San Diego, Geovany Soto, Mark DeRosa and Alfonso Soriano homered to lead Chicago past the Padres for its ninth straight win.

Rockies 3, Dodgers 0: At Los Angeles, Jeff Francis allowed four hits in seven shutout innings and Colorado beat the Dodgers to snap an eight-game skid.
