Beets offer oil answer
Our government uses our tax money to build the Alaskan pipeline so they can ship our oil overseas – isn’t that nice? And the media doesn’t say a thing about it.
Our government continues to discuss alternative fuel, but we have yet to see any of it. They talk about using corn and grain, which would tremendously drive up grocery prices. Why can’t we go back to growing sugar beets for fuel, which Brazil has been using since 1970? It’s been working great for them.
I remember when U and I sugar used to be in our area and would grow sugar beets to produce sugar for the nation until their business stopped. Utah, Idaho and Washington grew these sugar beets and were still able to grow plenty of corn and grain in this area, not affecting food prices.
If you want a non-answer, call your congressman, as they talk in circles without providing an answer – at least that’s what I received. Maybe if enough Americans call, they will be required to provide an answer and do something about this!
