RiverHawks fall despite seven-run eighth inning

MOSES LAKE – Philip Perish collected four hits and four RBIs to lead the Moses Lake Pirates to a 10-7 West Coast Collegiate Baseball League victory over the Spokane RiverHawks Sunday night.

The Pirates (1-2) jumped out to a 10-0 lead behind the pitching of Mike McCarthy. McCarthy threw seven shutout innings, giving up five hits with seven strikeouts.

The RiverHawks (2-1) scored all seven of their runs in the eighth inning. Aaron Headrick and Eric Renander drove in two runs apiece.
