Spokane tops Corvallis

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Spokane RiverHawks got off to a quick start and breezed to a 6-1 victory over the Corvallis Knights in West Coast Collegiate Baseball League play on Wednesday night.

The RiverHawks (3-2) batted around in the first inning, scoring four runs and never looking back.

Kyle Krustangel went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and four runs batted in to lead the RiverHawks’ attack.

Chris Vitus allowed the Knights’ lone run on a balk in the second inning. He surrendered two hits in six innings and struck out seven.

Corvallis fell to 4-1 on the season.

Football

The Spokane Shock maintained their No. 1 ranking for a third straight week in the arenafootball2 coaches’ poll after Week 13.

The Shock rolled to a 54-33 victory over Tri-Cities on Saturday to run their record to 11-0. Spokane received 28 of 29 first-place votes and 447 of a possible 448 points. The defending ArenaCup-champion Tulsa Talons received the other first-place vote and are ranked second. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are third, followed by the Green Bay Blizzard.
