Stanford will travel to UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion with the Pac-10 title and the top seed in the conference tournament on the line. A UCLA win clinches both for the Bruins. A Stanford win, coupled with a Cardinal win at USC on Saturday, assures Stanford of no less than a tie with the Bruins for first and would ensure the Cardinal the tournament’s top seed. … Stanford’s Brook Lopez won the Pac-10 player of the week honor for the second time, after scoring 46 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking eight shots in wins over the Washington schools. … If Oregon State loses at home against Arizona and ASU, the Beavers will become the first conference team to post a 0-18 league mark. OSU has the longest losing streak to open a conference season (16) and has lost 18 consecutive league games, only 12 behind UCLA’s record, set from 1937-40. … Who is the Pac-10 freshman of the year? USC’s O.J. Mayo has six games of 29 or more points and Jerryd Bayless of Arizona has four, including this season’s freshman-best in conference play of 39. But the award will probably go to UCLA’s Kevin Love, whose scoring high this season is “only” 27. He is averaging 17.3 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
