The Spokesman-Review

Much will be decided in the final weekend of conference play. The only solidified seeds are fifth (Hawaii) and ninth (Louisiana Tech). There’s the possibility of a four-tie for the conference title, which would be a first for the WAC. The last three-way tie was between Wyoming, UTEP and Utah for the 1985-86 season. … Boise State can win the WAC outright with a win over visiting Utah State tonight. … The tournament begins Tuesday at New Mexico State with the play-in game between Louisiana Tech and the eighth seed. The quarterfinal games are two days later. … The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Tuesday its Division I All-District teams. Five WAC players were recognized. They are: Marcelus Kemp of Nevada (District 13 first team), Jaycee Carroll of Utah State (District 14 second team), Reggie Larry of Boise State (District 13 first team), Kevin Bell of Fresno State (District 13 second team) and Justin Hawkins of New Mexico State (District 15 second team). … Carroll leads the nation in 3-point field-goal percentage (.505) and is second in free-throw percentage (.922).
