St. Mary’s Catholic Church was the setting for the Aug. 4 wedding of Melissa Elliott and Brian Scott.

The bride is the daughter of Grant Elliott, Oldtown, Idaho, and Cynthia and John McSmith, Spokane. The groom is the son of Jim and Susan Scott, Veradale.

A reception was held at Decades. The couple are living in Spokane Valley after a honeymoon in Lincoln City, Ore.

The bride, a graduate of Washington State University and Gonzaga University, is a counselor at Chester Elementary and Betz Elementary. The groom, who graduated from WSU, is a Marine Contractor for Lark Inc.
