Gmail addresses are twofold
Some people using Google‘s Gmail system for their e-mail know they’re actually given two separate accounts.
If you have an address such as joemorgan@gmail.com, you also have the address joemorgan@googlemail.com.
Any mail sent to either address shows up in the same inbox.
This has one clear advantage in avoiding spam. Give the @googlemail.com address to close contacts and keep the @gmail.com address for public (your blog or corporate e-mail, for instance).
Then set a Gmail filter moving all incoming messages with @googlemail.com to a special folder so you will never miss important e-mail from close friends.
