Kayakers heading to local waters
The Spokane Parks and Recreation Department’s first-of-the-season group kayaking trips to Inland Northwest lakes for paddlers 18 years and older are launching this month to:
•Banks Lake on Saturday.
•Lake Lenore on March 29.
Cost: $37-39 (REI members get $5 discount), includes van transportation, kayak rentals, lifejackets and paddles.

Learn to capture digital landscape
What: Two-day landscape digital photography seminar.
Who: By Marc Muench, California-based professional landscape and outdoor sports photographer, sponsored by the Inland Empire Chapter, Photographic Society of America.

Insight: “The hardest thing to overcome in the digital photography revolution is the number of software options and tools available,” Muench said. “With an ocean of possibilities, how do you simplify to complete the work you want to do? That’s what I’ve been working on. It’s a simplification of all the possibilities geared toward landscape.”
