Sam Skillingstad had 15 strikeouts and recorded her third win while leading Shadle Park (3-0) over visiting University (1-2) 5-1 in the Greater Spokane League. Allie Burger led the Highlanders, going 2 for 2 with two runs scored.

“Kellogg collected 30 hits over two games for a 14-4, 17-2 doubleheader win over Priest River (0-3, 0-2) in an Intermountain League game. The Wildcats (2-0, 2-0) were led by Stephanie Squires, who had five hits and five RBIs, and Cody James, who had six hits in the two games.

Boys soccer

Cameron Bushey of Mead (5-0, 2-0) scored the game-winning goal in overtime on a header off a corner kick from teammate Chance Johnston for a 2-1 victory over host East Valley (0-4, 0-2) in the GSL. It was the second league overtime loss for the Knights this season. … Also in the GSL, Lewis and Clark and Central Valley’s goalkeepers, Chris Hollman and Nick Piger, had nine saves apiece in regulation and overtime, but Hollman collected three more in the shootout to give the Tigers (4-1, 2-0) a 1-0 victory over the Bears (3-2, 1-1). … University scored three goals in the first 18 minutes and held North Central (2-2, 0-2) scoreless for a 3-0 victory. The Titans (3-3, 1-1) were led by Mike Ramos, who scored the first two goals and had an assist on the final goal. … A goal by Ferris’ Sam Palmer (3-0, 2-0) in the final seconds of regulation sent the game into overtime where the Saxons beat Mt. Spokane (0-1, 0-1) in the shootout for a 3-2 victory. Palmer’s last-second goal came off the kickoff that followed a last-minute goal by Renton Day of the Wildcats. … Gonzaga Prep was led by Dickson and Payton Connors, who combined to score three goals and have two assists in a 7-0 victory over Rogers (0-4, 0-2). The Bullpups (2-2, 1-1) scored four goals in the first half and added three more in the second.

Baseball

Beau Brett threw a complete-game shutout for Ferris as it rolled to a 13-0 GSL win over host Shadle Park (0-2, 0-2). The Saxons (2-0, 2-0) were led at the plate by Aaron Rodgers, who was 4 for 4, and Bud Kittredge, who had three hits and scored three runs. Shawn Stockton and William Cornwell added two RBIs apiece for the Saxons. … Also in the league, with a combination of 23 hits and 20 batters walked University cruised to a 32-1 victory at East Valley (0-3, 0-3). The Titans (2-0, 2-0) got huge contributions from Danny Jordan, who went 4 for 5 with five runs, and Billy Moon, who went 3 for 3 with six RBIs.
