Camera Club hands out 76th annual awards
Spokane-area photography buffs have been competing for annual Spokane Camera Club awards for still images since the club was founded in 1932.
Winners in each of 11 categories were chosen by internationally recognized photography judges during an all-day session. About 700 images were entered in the competition. All entries must have been entered in monthly competitions during the past September-April season. Trophies and awards were presented as the winners were announced at the Annual Salon and Awards Banquet April 26 at the Mukogawa Fort Wright Commons.
Top awards included: Nature Slide of the Year – “Blue Heron” by Donald Burnell; Vee Nealey Slide of the Year – “Bryce Hoodoos” by Pat Schilling; Zaber Miller Creative Slide of the Year – “Painted Hills #13” by Pat Schilling; Creative Color Print of the Year – “Cactus Flower” by Marilyn Bashore; Scenic Color Print of the Year trophy – “God’s Country” by Tony Horpel; Elden Griffith Color Print of the Year – “Blowing in the Wind” by Marilyn Bashore; Talbot Creative Monochrome Print of the Year – “Zebra Mania” by Marilyn Bashore; John Sparkes Monochrome Print of the Year – “Agave” by Barbara Murray; Creative Digital Image of the Year – “Storage Cylinders” by David Sams; and John Hill Digital Image of the Year – “Reverie in Red” by Will Murray.
