Plant sale and swap

Riverfront Farms and Holy Trinity Church will present a plant sale and swap, along with a raised garden bed work party, today from 9 a.m. to noon in Evelyn’s Garden at the Brandon Wagner Youth Memorial House, 2605 W. Boone Ave.

Participants are asked to bring work clothes, gloves, hats and gardening tools, including drills and saws, to construct raised garden beds.

Buddhist service

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will offer a special service with the Rev. Donald Castro, of the Seattle Betsuin Temple, Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Organ recital

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present an organ recital featuring Tyrell Lundman on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Lundman will perform Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in D Minor, Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. VI and more.

The church will be open from 1 to 2 p.m. for self-guided tours, meditation and hospitality. A reception follows the performance.

Comic opera

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2715 S. Ray St., will present the comic opera “The Stoned Guest” by P.D.Q. Bach on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Directed by Tim Campbell, the show will feature Heidi Gnos Kuban, Shannon Baker, Brian MacDoogal, Erik Samuelson and pianist Andrea Hope.

The performance will last about 35 minutes.

Singles meeting

The Christian Singles Fellowship will hold its monthly meeting today at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison St.

Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye Ave., will host a potluck lunch in honor of new members Sunday following the 10:45 a.m. contemporary worship service.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a main dish, salad or dessert to share.

Garage sale

Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Road, will host a garage sale Friday and next Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is a fundraiser for an upcoming mission trip to Mexico.
