Springing into new fashions

One of the traditions of spring is a fashion show to usher in pretty clothes and banish winter’s dowdy turtlenecks and tights.

The 50th Annual Ebony Fashion Fair, held on April 29 at Northern Quest Casino and also a tradition, was picture perfect. Wearing the latest fashions and strutting with sophisticated style, models dressed in creations by top designers took charge of the runway.

The annual fundraiser, part of a national tour, was sponsored by the Spokane Chapter of The Links, Inc.

The audience enjoyed a gourmet meal and went home with a subscription to Ebony Magazine. Proceeds will go to provide money for scholarships and civic events.

This year’s “Glam Odyssey,” was promised to be “A Journey into Bliss and Beyond.”

It was, at the very least, a chance to get out of the winter coat and step stylishly into spring at last.
