Project Access Physician Recognition Dinner

Third annual event showing gratitude to the physicians who volunteer their services to Project Access, the only volunteer network of physicians and hospitals providing the full range of health care at no charge to low-income, uninsured residents of Spokane County. The keynote speaker will be Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life-Kootenai County

Begins Friday at 5 p.m. with a cancer survivor reception and ceremonial opening lap. Survivors should RSVP for the reception. Various live entertainment and activities are planned.

Cancer Patient Care’s Loreen Miller Bike Ride

15th annual event. Choose from 100-mile, 50-mile, and 12-mile family ride. Registration includes a pancake breakfast, Qdoba catered lunch, and a T-shirt. All funds raised support cancer patients. Check-in begins at 6 a.m.

Grape and Grain 2008

Spokane’s Premiere Wine and Beer Tasting event. Presented by the Spokane Advertising Federation, a nonprofit group that raises funds for advertising scholarships, fully supports and advises the Northwest District of Advertising College Students for the annual national competition, and sponsors a nationally recognized teenage drug awareness advertising contest. Featuring more than 20 Northwest wineries and breweries, a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets may be purchased at Vino! A Wineshop, Huckleberrys, or at www.spokaneadfed.com.

Walk With Me

Easter Seals national signature fundraiser helping change the lives of people living with autism and other disabilities. Every walker is partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador, a child or young adult with a disability who benefits from Spokane-area Easter Seals services. Registration at 11 a.m., 5K walk at noon. Free parking at the corner of Mallon Avenue and Howard Street.
