Seattle remembers Tuba Man
SEATTLE – About 1,500 people attended a memorial in Seattle for a street musician known as Tuba Man who was robbed and beaten to death.
A number of people wore whimsical hats to the Wednesday night event at Qwest Field Events Center because Ed McMichael was known for funny hats when he played outside sporting events and the opera.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports Seattle Symphony Orchestra tuba players performed and people spoke about the cheer McMichael brought to people who saw him.
McMichael was attacked by a group of teens Oct. 25 at a bus stop near the Seattle Center. He died Nov. 3 of head injuries.
Three 15-year-olds have been arrested and police are looking for two other teens.
