Dentists ship 386 pounds of Halloween candy

The effort to buy Halloween candy from children and ship it to soldiers was so successful that organizer Kidds Dental plans to bring it back next year.

Candy was collected at the dental practice’s locations in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake. Children were paid $1 per pound and also got a coupon for a free meal at an area restaurant.

A total of 386 pounds of candy was collected and has been shipped to Operation Gratitude in California along with hundreds of toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste. Operation Gratitude sends holiday packages to soldiers.
