Morgio’s Sandwiches opens on Fourth Street
Featuring high-end deli sandwiches and daily specials, Morgio’s Sandwiches opened last week at 206 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. The redecorated site formerly housed Scott-Ja-Mama’s BBQ and is across the street from the federal courthouse.
Owner Paul Grier’s sandwiches are constructed with in-house-cooked meats, fresh-daily baked breads and high-quality cheeses. A daily lunch special includes the sandwich of the day, soup, pickle and chips for $8.99. Simple breakfasts are available starting at 7 a.m.
Originally from Spokane, Grier has 20 years’ experience in the hospitality business. With two employees, hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 8 to 4 Saturdays. The restaurant seats 42 customers at tables and at the bar.
Four-course dinners served from 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays celebrate special occasions, with 15 percent of the sales being donated as fundraisers. October dinners will help fund medical bills for Dave Todhunter, and November proceeds will boost the Coeur d’Alene Library. A different theme is emphasized each week with the cost of $40. Reservations only.
“Our goal is to create a unique and fun environment in which we do all the work,” Grier said. Phone 755-3875.
Starbucks now at Neider, Government Way
North Idaho’s seventh Starbucks opened last week in Sportsman’s Plaza II in the northeast corner of Government Way and Neider Avenue.
