‘Pacman’ enters alcohol center
Suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has entered an alcohol treatment center.
The oft-troubled player has checked into a facility “in another part of the country,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the Associated Press on Monday.
“It’s totally done through and by the NFL,” Jerry Jones said.
The league suspended Adam Jones for at least four games last Tuesday for again violating its personal conduct policy.
Only six weeks after being reinstated from a 17-month suspension because of repeated legal problems, Jones was involved in an alcohol-related scuffle Oct. 7 with one of his bodyguards at a private party in Dallas.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will determine the full length of the suspension after the Cowboys play Nov. 16 at Washington. Goodell has said a lifetime ban remains a possibility.

Vegas books like Rays
Las Vegas sports books favor the Tampa Bay Rays to win the World Series over the Philadelphia Phillies and would owe huge payouts if the American League champions prevail.
Oddsmakers say enough bettors took the Rays early in the year at long-shot prices to force books to adjust lines to encourage bets on the Phillies.
Sean Van Patten at Las Vegas Sports Consultants says the Rays are favored at minus-$1.35, meaning a gambler would need to bet $1.35 to be paid $1 if Tampa Bay wins.
Van Patten puts the Phillies at plus-$1.15, meaning a $1 bet would earn $1.15 if Philadelphia wins.
Las Vegas Hilton race and sports book director Jay Kornegay says before the start of the season the Rays were a 200-1 shot for the title.

Big Sky picks Eastern corner
Eastern Washington University cornerback Ryan Kelley has been selected as the Big Sky Conference co-defensive player of the week after intercepting two passes against his former school last Saturday in a 37-17 victory at Montana State University.
Kelley, who was at MSU in 2004 and 2005, had a pair of interceptions, including one he returned 37 yards for a first-half score. That interception, with 5:03 left in the second quarter, helped Eastern to a 14-all tie at halftime despite just 93 yards from EWU’s offense.
Kelley shared the honor with Northern Colorado linebacker Cristian Sarmento. Montana quarterback Cole Bergquist is offensive player of the week and Weber State returner/wide receiver Bryant Eteuati is the special teams player of the week.
