Daniels powers EWU

Mandy Daniels had 20 kills and Amanda Yausie finished with 40 assists Tuesday as Eastern Washington (10-9) rolled to a 3-0 non-conference volleyball win over visiting Seattle University (10-9).

Women’s soccer

Visiting Community Colleges of Spokane (3-11-3, 2-10-3) lost 3-2 to NWAACC rival Yakima Valley (2-10-3), despite getting goals from Chrissii Almquist and Amanda Swenson.

Men’s soccer

Goalkeeper Josh Peck posted a shutout as Community Colleges of Spokane (8-6-2, 8-4-1) defeated NWAACC rival Pierce CC 1-0 in Lakewood, Wash.

Golf

Washington State, led by sophomore Nick Ellis’ 54-hole total of 7-under-par 209, finished fifth in the team standings of San Diego State’s Sycuan Invitational at Willow Glen Golf Course in El Cajon, Calif.

David Nuhn finished at 1-over 217 to lead Idaho.

•Michael Hansen, after putting together an opening round of even-par 72, skied to an 89 at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md., but still had the low two-day total for eighth-place Gonzaga in the Georgetown Intercollegiate tournament.
