Medical Lake road work should be wrapped up soon
MEDICAL LAKE – Road construction is the norm during summer months, and the city of Medical Lake will soon wrap up its projects before the snow flies.
Doug Ross, the city administrator, said the city is working on a patch on Sherman Street, a patch on east Evergreen Drive, some crack-sealing in spots throughout the city and a patch on Hancock where crews also fixed a leaking water main.
The city is also replacing the asphalt apron around the bay doors of the Fire Department on the edge of Lefevre Street.
“It should be wrapped up within the next four weeks,” Ross said. He also noted that this estimate is a very conservative one. He said it could be sooner.
Ross estimated the cost for the projects should be around $85,000 and will be paid with funds from the city budget.
The city hires Shamrock Paving Co. to do the work, and Ross said the company fits the city into its schedule and completes the work when they can.
“They treat us very well,” Ross said.
Another project the city is working on is installing a new gazebo in Pioneer Park, but the work has been pushed back until the spring, Ross said.
