Halloween fun

The following is a list of upcoming North Idaho Halloween events.

Today

Haunted House Special Olympics Fundraiser – Today, 6 p.m.-midnight at the Rathdrum Lions Club on state Highway 53, across from Super 1 Foods. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics in Coeur d’Alene, Rathdrum and Post Falls. $5. (509) 879-0266.

Coeur d’Alene Haunted House – Today, 7-11 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday from 7-10 p.m. and 7-midnight on Halloween at 3535 Government Way. $5/admission or $4 and a canned food donation for the Coeur d’Alene Food Bank.

Amaizing Corn Maze - Haunted maze week. Today, 10 a.m.-11 p.m., and Sunday, noon-5 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. and Halloween from 4-11 p.m. on Beck Road in Hauser. Haunting begins at 6 p.m. each day. No pets, no purses or backpacks in maze, strollers and wheelchairs enter at own risk. $10/adults, $7/ages 5-12 and seniors age 60 and older, free/age 4 and younger. (509) 242-CORN (2676).

Halloween Party and Spooky Trail – Today, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Priest Lake State Park, Indian Creek Park Headquarters, Coolin. Trick-or-treat in the park. 443-2200.

Halloween Happy House – Today, 4-7 p.m. at Unity Church of North Idaho, 4465 N. 15th St., Coeur d’Alene. Free magic show, Slinky the Clown, costume contests, games and prizes. Open to ages 1-10 with chaperone age 16 and older. 755-9348.

Howl-O-Ween Carnival – Today, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Pet Resort, 125 E. Hazel Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Fundraiser for all ages and pets. Carved pumpkin contest, costume contests and more. Proceeds benefit Kootenai Humane Society. $3. 818-1633.

Coeur d’Alene Oktoberfest – Today, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. along Sherman Avenue in downtown. Formerly the Downtown Fall Festival, with arts and crafts, food vendors, live music, hay rides and farmers market.

Post Falls Lions Haunted House – Open today-Halloween, 6-midnight on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Post Street. Hosted by Post Falls Lions Club. $6. 660-8936.

Boo Bash Dance and Workshops – Workshops begin today at 4 p.m. with dance is from 7-9 p.m. at Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave. Costumes are optional with prizes for the best. Workshops are West Coast Swing and Night Club Two-Step. Singles, couples, and students all welcome. Sponsored by Sandpoint’s USA Dance. Event is alcohol and tobacco free. $40, includes both workshops, pizza and dance; $9/dance only. 699-0421.

Coeur d’Alene Haunted House – 7 p.m.-midnight at 3535 Government Way. $5/admission or $4 and a canned food donation for the Coeur d’Alene Food Bank.

Community Harvest Festival – 6-9 p.m. at Real Life Ministries, 1866 Cecil Road, Post Falls. Includes games, activities, food and candy. Free admission. 777-7325, ext. 148.

Downtown Coeur d’Alene Trick or Treat – 4-6 p.m. at participating merchants along Sherman Avenue. 664-3194.

Halloween Alternative Festival – 4-8 p.m. at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, 4056 N. Government Way. Games, prizes and lots of candy. Presented by North Country Chapel. Free admission. 773-4250.

Post Falls Lions Haunted House – Open 6 p.m.-midnight at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Post Street. Hosted by Post Falls Lions Club. $6. 660-8936.

Silver Valley Fall Harvest Festival – 6-8 p.m. at Pinehurst Elementary School. Includes prizes, food, and two game areas, one for kids age 5 and younger, and another for the older kids. Proceeds benefit community service projects in the Pinehurst/Kingston area. Sponsored by Pinehurst-Kingston Lions club and Real Life Ministries-Silver Valley. $1/kids and a canned food item or $2. Fear Fest at Schweitzer Mountain Resort – 6-9 p.m., The Attic, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, 10000 Schweitzer Mountain Road, Sandpoint. Not recommended for ages 13 and younger. Continues next Saturday. $10 (can be purchased in advance at the Activity Center). 255-3081.
