Autumn ball will benefit graduate

The Washington State University and Eastern Washington University students of the University Programs in Communication Disorders program are hosting an Autumn Benefit Ball in honor of a recent graduate of the program who was diagnosed with cancer.

The semiformal ball will be Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. in the lobby of the Health and Sciences Building on the WSU/EWU Riverpoint Campus, 310 E. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The event will include dance lessons, with salsa and swing dancing, and a basket raffle.

The suggestion for the evening is $10 per person or $15 per couple.

Corbin Senior to honor veterans

The Corbin Senior Activity Center, 827 W. Cleveland Ave., will be honoring veterans next Thursday at 2 p.m.

Project Joy Orchestra will perform, and Terri and Evan Cox will sing and share patriotic prose. Participants also can enjoy homemade apple pie on this special occasion.

Tickets are $5 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are not available at the door. Veterans are admitted free.
