The first-place Spokane Chiefs will try to stay on top this weekend, playing at Everett tonight and returning home Saturday to take on the Kootenay Ice. The Chiefs are tied with the Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League’s U.S. Division with 21 points and a game in hand. The defending Memorial Cup champions are ranked eighth in the latest Canadian Hockey League poll. The Calgary Hitmen are the highest-ranked WHL team at No. 3 followed by the Vancouver Giants at No. 4.
