ID: Gun of the Sun is highlighted by Freetime Synthetic and Doug Tobey, both of the locally legendary disco-punk-rap outfit Upper Class Racket

Style: Underground hip-hop

Roster: Emcees Jason Corcoran, aka Freetime Synthetic; K.C. Little, aka Quiz; and Tobey, aka DJ Dugsneezy

Lyrical content: “The main thing of making a track is that we wouldn’t plan ahead specifically – like we might do on our solo stuff – we would purposefully not plot it out and in that moment we were going to make something, that’s when we decided what beat it was going to be,” Freetime said.

“I think it’s more pure as far as the dynamic when we do that because it’s like we’re both flipping a coin and seeing if it’s going to land on the same side. When we have recurring themes in our verses in most cases we didn’t pre-plan that. It just happened. Without picking a topic, usually our verses tend to link up,” Quiz said.

Next gig: Gun of the Sun releases its full-length debut album, “Go Home,” tonight at The Knitting Factory, 919 W. First Ave., featuring The Tangled Roots’ “War on the Floor” break dance battle royal, plus Jaeda, Sintax, The Have Nots, Don Da Vinci & Sentry Man, A Bomb, P Wrecks, Average Joseph, Nextgen, Spindle, and McGavin. Cover is $6 for the all-ages show, available through TicketsWest, www.ticketswest.com, (509) 325-SEAT. Doors open at 7 p.m.
