Waste centers open daily

Spokane Regional Solid Waste System recycling centers/transfer stations and the waste-to-energy plant will return to regular hours on Oct. 1, with all facilities open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended hours will resume on April 1.

Also beginning Oct. 1, there will be no charge for disposing of the first 100 pounds of Clean Green during all hours. Amounts over the first 100 pounds are charged at 35 cents per 20 pounds.

The charge to dump garbage is $98 per ton, with a $7 minimum for the first 140 pounds.

Recycling and household hazardous waste can be dropped off during all hours, free of charge.

There are one-stop drop sites for recyclables, household hazardous waste, garbage and yard debris at the following locations:

•The North County Recycling/Transfer Station, 22123 Elk-Chattaroy Road.

•The Valley Recycling/Transfer Station, 3941 N. Sullivan Road.

•The Waste to Energy Facility/Recycling Center, 2900 S. Geiger Blvd.
