School committee members needed

Students, parents, school staff and community members are needed to serve on Coeur d’Alene School District’s policy advisory committee for the 2008-09 academic year.

The first committee meeting will be Sept. 29 at the Midtown Center, 1505 N. Fifth St., at 4 p.m.

Mental health conference planned

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Division of Behavioral Health will hold a Mental Health Recovery conference Thursday at Lake City Community Church, 6000 N. Ramsey Road in Coeur d’Alene, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The goal of the conference is to create opportunities for people suffering from mental illness and to let them know that recovery is possible.

Cost ranges $5 to $30. For more information, call Jean Leeds at 769-1406.
