Deconstructing Woody, are they?

A clothing company known for its racy ads is fighting a $10 million lawsuit by Woody Allen, arguing it can’t have damaged his reputation because he’s already ruined it himself.

The 73-year-old director last year sued American Apparel for using his image on billboards and a Web site.

One featured a frame from Allen’s “Annie Hall,” showing him dressed as a Hasidic Jew with a long beard and black hat.

“I think Woody Allen overestimates the value of his image,” says American Apparel’s lawyer, Stuart Slotnick.

“Certainly, our belief is that after the various sex scandals that Woody Allen has been associated with, corporate America’s desire to have Woody Allen endorse their product is not what he may believe it is.”

Allen’s relationship with Mia Farrow ended in 1992 when she discovered he was having an affair with her oldest adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, whom he later married.

During a bitter custody fight, Farrow also accused Allen of sexually abusing their adopted daughter Dylan, 7. He was exonerated, but Farrow won sole custody of the children.

Strange bedfellows, indeed

Speaking of image issues, ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich wants to star in NBC’s “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!”

In the reality show similar to “Survivor,” contestants will be plopped down in the Costa Rican jungle to perform sweaty physical tasks, scheme to avoid elimination and throw tantrums for the camera.

Blagojevich, arrested in December on charges that included trying to sell off President Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, first needs court approval to leave the country with a pending criminal case.

He wasn’t really serious

Jamie Foxx has apologized to Miley Cyrus for a radio routine in which he urged the 16-year-old to “make a sex tape and grow up,” saying that he “didn’t mean it maliciously.”

In a “Tonight Show” appearance, Foxx told Jay Leno that he was doing a routine on his Sirius satellite show, saying: “Sometimes as comedians, you know, we go a little too far.”

Dogg don’t chase no cars

Criminal charges have been dropped against rapper Nate Dogg, who had been accused of stalking and threatening his estranged wife.

Dogg was charged with two counts of making criminal threats, stemming from e-mails he sent to her, and one count of stalking for allegedly chasing her car on a freeway.

She’d better not get hoarse

Country music star LeAnn Rimes will help start a new tradition at the Kentucky Derby.

Churchill Downs says Rimes will be the first national recording artist to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the historic racetrack in Louisville, Ky., as part of the Derby Day ceremonies on May 2.
