Auditions

North Idaho College ChoirsJazz Company – Monday, 7-9 p.m., in Boswell Hall Room 128. Familiarity with jazz vocal style is recommended. Concert Choir – Tuesday, 7-9:30 p.m., in Boswell Hall Room 102. Auditions will consist of singing a simple folk-type melody and various vocal exercises to evaluate musicianship, vocal range and aptitude. Madrigal Singers – Tuesday, 4:30-6:15 p.m., in Boswell Hall Room 102. Auditions will focus on evaluating music reading and learning skills, vocal range and aptitude and ability to blend within a small choral ensemble. North Idaho College, 1000 W. “Measure for Measure” – Tuesday-Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., North Idaho College’s Schuler Performing Arts Center, Boswell Hall, 1000 W. Garden Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Parts available for 16-19 men and five women. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and possibly exercise if time permits. “Dracula” – Sept. 8-9, 6-9 p.m., Lake City Playhouse, 1320 E. Garden Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Parts available for seven men and five women. Auditions will consist of some physical activity and cold readings from the script. Call (208) 667-1323.

2009 Governor’s Arts and Heritage Awards – Nominations are being accepted to honor outstanding artists, arts organizations, arts educators, supporters and cultural leaders in Washington state. Call for writers

Amy Woodward Fisher World Day of Poetry Contest – Sponsored by Poetry Scribes of Spokane. Seeking original unpublished poems of 60 lines or less. Poets 18 and older may submit up to two poems in each category: rhymed and free verse.
