In brief: Christmas Eve services scheduled

COEUR D’ALENE – The Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., will hold Christmas Eve services at 7 and 10 p.m.

Attendees are invited to celebrate the evening with candlelight services, carols, scripture and stories. The men’s and women’s choir along with the handbell choir will perform at the 7 p.m. service.

Residents invited to holiday meal

SANDPOINT – The Bonner Gospel Mission will host a traditional Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Sandpoint Community Hall, 900 N. Fifth Ave.

The afternoon meal is free and all members of the community are welcome to attend. Local transportation is available if needed.

NIC selling 5,000 raffle tickets

COEUR D’ALENE – The North Idaho College Foundation is selling tickets for the 17th annual Really BIG Raffle, NIC’s largest fundraiser.

The grand prize for this year’s drawing is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home, totaling 2,147 square feet, worth $265,000. The house is under construction and is located at 880 Marceille Drive in the Greenstone Coeur d’Alene Place neighborhood. Other prizes include a $20,000 car, a $10,000 boat, a $3,500 travel package and a $2,000 shopping spree.

NIC students enrolled in the 10-month carpentry program and the two-year carpentry management program participate in the construction of the home.

Tickets are $100. Only 5,000 tickets will be sold before the drawing, held on July 14.

Proceeds from the event benefit educational needs at NIC.

Citizenship award process begins

POST FALLS – The Post Falls Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 21st annual Citizen of the Year in the Post Falls community. Nominations for Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Spirit of Post Falls are also being accepted.

Award winners will be announced at the Recognition Banquet on Jan. 14 at Red Lion Templin’s Resort.

Nomination forms are available at the chamber office, 510 E. Sixth Ave. or online at www.postfalls chamber.com. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 30.
