Jones, Marshall spark Sasquatch

Griffon Jones poured in a game-high 25 points with three blocked shots and Danny Marshall scored 20 with a game-high nine rebounds to power the Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch (10-2) to an 85-79 win over the Highline Thunderbirds (3-5) in men’s basketball action Wednesday at Spokane Falls CC.

Football

Washington State University has made a change to its football staff following the Cougars’ 1-11 season. The school announced the contract of offensive line coach Harold Etheridge would not be renewed.

Etheridge, 50, came to WSU two years ago, leaving Northern Illinois to join Paul Wulff’s staff. His contract, which pays the 21-year coaching veteran $115,000 a year, will expire March 31. No replacement has been named.
