Cougars lose at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Lawrence Hill scored 20 points and Stanford snapped a three-game losing streak, beating Washington State 65-54 on Thursday night.
Anthony Goods added 13 points and a career-high seven assists as the Cardinal (24-6, 4-6 Pac-10) avoided their longest losing streak in 16 years. Will Paul contributed a career-high 13 points.
Klay Thompson scored 18 points and Aron Baynes added 16 for the Cougas (12-10, 4-6), who lost their fourth in five games.
Stanford trailed early but took the lead for good late in the first half on one of Paul’s three 3-pointers. The redshirt sophomore center had never made more than one long-range shot in any previous game.
Stanford led at halftime, 29-28.
