Third-ranked Freeman wins
MacKenzie Taylor scored 15 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to help the third-ranked Freeman Scotties (18-0, 8-0) wrap up a perfect regular season with a 59-47 win over visiting Kettle Falls.
Korina Baker added 12 points and five assists for the Scotties, who played their final game in the old gym. The new facility is expected to be ready for next season.
Chelsea Brisbois of the Bulldogs (9-10, 3-5) led all scorers with 17.
Kettle Falls will face Newport at Riverside at 3 p.m. today for third-place seeding into the league tournament.
Lakeside 78, Chewelah 35: Alex Daggy and Kendra Lahue each scored 14 points to lead the Eagles (12-7, 6-2) past the Cougars (2-17, 0-8).
Great Northern League
Cheney 37, Colville 35: The visiting Blackhawks (6-9, 5-4) edged the Indians (6-8, 3-5) for the second time this season.
Colville got a good look at a three-point shot at the buzzer, but left disappointed. Cheney, which led for the entire second half, couldn’t pull away mainly because of a 1-for-7 effort at the free-throw line.
Laikyn Brophy led the Blackhawks with 11 points. She scored 14 the first time the two teams met, a 41-40 Cheney win last week.
Clarkston 44, Riverside 27: The Bantams (11-4, 8-1) forced 26 turnovers and held the Rams (1-13, 1-8) to 1-for-9 shooting in the third quarter at Riverside.
West Valley 56, Deer Park 24: Hannah Love scored 10 points in the first quarter as the Eagles (12-3, 6-3) raced out to a 13-2 first-quarter lead and never looked back against the Stags (3-12, 2-7) at Deer Park.
Intermountain League
Bonners Ferry 59, Orofino 15: The winless Maniacs (0-15, 0-9) had 27 turnovers and didn’t score in the second half as the homestanding Badgers (12-5, 7-2) won easily and kept their hopes alive for a share of the league title.
The Badgers play St. Maries today at 2:30. A Bonners Ferry win would give the Badgers a share of the regular-season title.
Erin Hiatt had eight rebounds, four assists, five steals and seven points for the Badgers. Teammate Ashley Winkelseth led the balanced scoring attack with eight.
Timberlake 33, Kellogg 30: Kassi Thompson hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left to lift the Tigers (14-5, 8-2) over the visiting Wildcats (6-13, 4-7) and clinch no worse than a tie for the league title.
Timberlake completed its league season and has a half-game lead over Bonners Ferry, which concludes its regular season today.
St. Maries 60, Priest River 56: Jade Whemhoff scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Lumberjacks (9-10, 6-3) past the Spartans (6-10, 4-5) at Priest River.
Melissa Hopkins scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Priest River.
Idaho 1A districts
Summit Academy 49, Mullan 24: Rachel Wemhoff scored 16 points for Summit at Lakeland High School.
Summit plays Clark Fork today at 1:30. Mullan takes on Culdesac at noon.
Britany Walsh had nine points and eight rebounds for the Tigers (4-15).
Clark Fork 47, Culdesac 16: The Wampus Cats (4-8) got a game-high 14 points from Shiana Gustafson to cruise past the Wolves (3-17).
Caribou Trail League
Cashmere 76, Lake Roosevelt 43: The Raiders got 16 points and 12 rebounds from Melissa Meza to easily beat the visiting Bulldogs at Coulee Dam.
Bi-County 2B League
Davenport 44, Lind-Ritzville 43: In another thrilling finish between these two teams, the visiting Gorillas (12-6, 8-4) came out on top again.
The 10th-ranked Broncos (12-7, 7-4) had the ball with 13 second left and missed three shots before time expired. In the first meeting this season between the two schools, Davenport squeaked out a 45-43 win.
Mariah Mielke scored 18 for the Gorillas, who also got 12 apiece from Miranda Mielke and Alysha Brantley. Courtney Flynn led the Broncos with 12.
Colfax 59, Liberty 49: Kayla Johnson scored 20 points to lead the third-ranked Bulldogs (18-1, 11-0) past the Lancers (12-7, 5-6) at Colfax.
Northwest Christian 46, Valley Christian 30: Bryanna Bailey and Colbi Neal split 40 points to lead the Crusaders (9-10, 3-8) past the visiting Panthers (2-16, 0-11).
Bi-County 1B League
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 48, Sprague-Harrington 31: The second-ranked Warriors (17-1, 5-0) clinched the league title with the win over the visiting Falcons (6-10, 4-2). Both of Sprague-Harrington’s league losses were to ACH.
Sarah Gloyn scored 16 points for the Warriors and Madeline Isaak added 14. Kazia Starkenburg led all rebounders with nine. Hillary Hayes led the Falcons with 12 points.
District 9 North League
Garfield-Palouse 42, Tekoa-Oakesdale 33: The sixth-ranked Vikings (11-5, 4-5) got 14 points and 11 rebounds from Elisha Lopez in the road win over the Nighthawks (9-8, 3-5).
Colton 63, LaCrosse-Washtucna 27: The top-ranked Wildcats (18-0, 10-0) wrapped up a perfect regular season with the easy win over the visiting Tigercats (6-9, 3-6).
Colton’s Kelsey Moser lead all scorer with 18 points.
Pomeroy 68, Asotin 66: The Pirates (13-5, 5-4) slipped past the Panthers (6-10, 3-5) at Asotin.
St. John-Endicott 50, Rosalia 22: The third-ranked Eagles (13-3, 7-3) wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the district playoffs with the win over the visiting Spartans (7-12, 2-8).
Kelsey Simon and Emma Raynor scored 10 apiece to lead the Eagles. Teammate Alli Winters had seven assists and Kadee McCanna pulled down nine rebounds. The Eagles outrebounded the Spartans 36-11.
Both teams wrap up league play tonight.
Panorama League
Springdale 61, Inchelium 34: Jerika Cummings had 15 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end, to go with her 16 points as the sixth-ranked Chargers (16-2, 10-2) ran away from the Hornets (8-10, 6-9) at Springdale.
The Chargers held a 20-14 halftime lead but pulled away with a 21-9 third quarter. Cummings scored 12 of her points in the third quarter. Teammate Shelbea Rainbolt chipped in 16 points and made six steals.
Both teams wrap up league play today.
St. George’s 58, Wellpinit 39: Lena Leverett-Standal scored a game-high 24 to lead the visiting Dragons (12-6, 10-2) past the Redskins (5-13, 4-11).
Columbia 49, Selkirk 42: The fourth-ranked Lions (16-2, 14-1) hit 11 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter, including 7 of 8 from Krista Colvin, to hold off the Rangers (10-9, 7-5) at Ione.
Colvin led the first-place Lions with 14 points and Lindsay Loe added 10.
Cusick 48, Curlew 40: Lydia Treischel scored 17 points and Ashley Keogh put in 10 to lead the visiting Panthers (14-3, 12-3) past the Cougars (8-11, 5-10).
Both teams wrap up the regular season today.
St. Michael’s 42, Republic 30: The Warriors (8-11, 6-10) clinched a playoff spot with the win over the visiting Tigers (4-13, 3-8) in the regular-season finale.
Non-league
Reardan 73, Wilbur-Creston 19: Ashley Perleberg scored a season-high 24 points to lead the Indians (10-9) to the easy win over the visiting Wildcats (0-15).
