Area residents complete basic training

Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio recently announced the graduation of seven local residents from basic military training.

Air Force Airman Shawn Steele is the son of Laura Holt of Colville, Wash., and a 2008 graduate of Northport (Wash.) High School.

Air Force Airman David Gay graduated from Mountain View High School in 2008 and is the son of Alec Gay and Marcy Hall, both of Spokane Valley.

Air Force Airman Megan Juhnke is the daughter of Scott Juhnke of Nine Mile Falls and graduated in 2008 from Reardan (Wash.) High School.

Air Force Airman Samuel Jensen is the son of Derold Jensen of Odessa.

Air Force Airman Savannah Weires graduated from Cheney High School in 2003 and is the daughter of Xavier Gutierrez Fairchild Air Force Base and Maria Ancell of Gloucester, Va.

Air Force Airman Wesley Cook is the son of Allison Atkins of Otis Orchards and is a 2008 graduate of East Valley High School.

Air Force Airman Jessica Clark graduated from Benny Benson High School in Anchorage, Alaska, in 2004 and is the daughter of Robert Clark of Spokane Valley and Laura Pauly of Valdez, Alaska.

•Army Pvt. Miranda Stansbery Hiller has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Hiller has a sister, Melissa O’Leary of Medical Lake.

•Army Pfc. Dustin Herbers has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

He is the son of Debbie Reynolds and Dan Herbers, both of Spokane, and a 2008 graduate of North Central High School.

•Army National Guard Pvt. Raymond Sicklny has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

He is the son of Robert and Lorna Thompson of Grand Coulee.

•Air Force Airman 1st Class Alden Skeie has graduated from the Vehicle Operations Apprentice Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.

He is the son of Jill Skeie of Mead.

•PFC. Christopher Lesser recently graduated from United States Marine Corp. boot camp 1st Bn. Charlie Co. 1043 in San Diego. He graduated from Lakeside High School and is the son of Randy and Laurie Lesser of Nine Mile Falls.
